Project Description

The clients were looking for a far greater physical & visual connection to their large mature garden.

The design centred on a more attractive rear elevation which would compliment the form and substance of the existing house.

A combination of folding / sliding doors with fixed glazed panels & a glazed roof gable provided lots of natural light & a wonderful connection to the beautiful garden area.

The design presented various technical challenges, including ensuring the large amount of glazing didn’t result in an overheated room.

A vaulted ceiling with exposed natural oak beam roof trusses helped to create a light, bright, airy feel & allow the space room to breathe.

A high quality finish was important, particularly the premium grade kitchen which contributed significantly to a very stylish interior.

The final transformation provided a beautiful light & versatile area with an excellent connection to the garden & new external terrace. Much of the year, particularly during the warmer months is now spent enjoying this fantastic space both inside & out.
