Project Description
A large semi-detached house outside the village of Elmbridge in Gloucestershire.

As the house was of historic local interest, the only option was to extend to the rear & replace an old outbuilding.

A new front porch was added to the design.

The client wanted to create a large open-plan kitchen / living area with a light spacious feel.

Having considered numerous precedents the client decided that a vaulted ceiling & multiple glazed windows & doors would create the light & airy space they were looking for.

The use of timber for the exterior of the extension provided a sympathetic contrast to the existing stone.

As construction neared completion it became clear to see how well the timber complemented & blended with the existing house.

The final transformation of the old outbuilding provided a sharp contrast & offered a lovely spot to sit out in the sun & enjoy the panoramic countryside views.
