Project Description
Having recently purchased a site which included a cottage, a dilapidated Listed Water Mill & a redundant field barn, the clients wanted a scheme proposal to convert the barn into a modern two storey residential dwelling.

Built in the 1960’s / 1970’s the barn was clad in metal & timber. It needed a complete overhaul as well as full conversion.

All elevations required thoughtful reworking to transform this former commercial building into a desirable attractive home.

Utilising the large space of the original barn, new ground & first floor plans were designed to provide modern spacious living.

The tremendous views from the first floor resulted in an ‘upside down’ layout with the living accommodation & terrace on the first floor.

The final scheme proposal provided total transformation with the exterior clad in vertical timber boarding & featuring a span of full length large windows, in addition to a first floor terrace which exploited views across the valley.
