Project Description

The proposal was for a new club house for well established golf club with part of the site used for a new housing development.

Two options for the connected housing development were considered which explored alternate layouts & access.

Initial analysis considered space allocation & layout for the various component facilities required in the new club house.

The clubhouse would be two storey & have an upside down layout allowing the lounge & bar to have views out across the course.

The section allowed sunlight into the lounge & bar via a clerestory roof-light as the main windows faced North.

The new club house was to be funded by the adjacent housing development. The housing was also designed to exploit the views across the golf course & the timber framed shingle facade & roofing helped the low environmental impact of the scheme.
